Outdoor Pursuits & Sports First Aid

We would like to draw your attention to our sport specialist courses – First Aid for Sports (6hrs) and First Aid for Outdoor Pursuits (16hrs) – which are specifically aimed at Sports Coaches, PE teachers and anyone who is in a hands-on position with adults or children in a sports or outdoor pursuit’s environment. These courses are interesting and fun with some of the tuition taking place off-site in a ‘real’ environment!

Both courses are certificated for a period of three years and can be adapted to your individual sport/activity.

We have provided training for PE Depts in numerous schools and colleges including Millfield School, Taunton Academy, Huish CLP, Heathfield School and Frome College to name but a few. All our Trainers have enhanced DBS checks.

Our customers also include pony clubs, tennis and golf clubs, country rangers, rugby clubs, health centres and many more sectors in this industry.

Defibrillation

All our courses now include training at different levels in the use of a defibrillator (AED). Obviously, you do not need to acquire a machine for the workplace but it is useful to understand how the defibrillator fits into the chain of survival. It will also give you confidence should you ever need to use a community AED.

We are happy to advise the pros and cons of having a machine on your premises as this is much more affordable now. We can help with info on the different machines, their costs, and the training involved.

We also offer a stand-alone AED course for those customers who would like more detail and practice time. Please speak to Julie or Lee for details.

Catastrophic Bleeding

Does your working environment have a high risk of catastrophic bleeding incidents? If so, we can help with training in the use of haemostatic dressing and tourniquets.

Oxygen Therapy

This is a 1hr add-on course for those using oxygen in their workplace.

Chemical Awareness

Do you use chemicals in the workplace? We can deliver a short Chemical Awareness session for your first aiders to equip them with this specialist area.

Event Cover

At public events, when there are large crowds expected, it is necessary to carry out a risk assessment for the health and safety of all concerned. If you identify a need for first aid cover, we can provide this for you at a favourable rate and we are fully insured to do so.
